Rallye Breslau Poland is the oldest amateur off-road rally in Europe, combining the “Cross-Country” and “Extreme” categories and together with the “Discovery” category it makes one of a kind motorsport event. The 2022 edition will take place from 27 June to 1 July.
Photography and story by Paolo Baraldi
After the great start of RBI Sport rally season 2022 with fantastic second edition of Fenix Rally all eyes are on the upcoming Rallye Breslau in Poland.
“The rally preparations are in full swing despite of the current situation”, Alexander Kovatchev said and he continued: “We understand that in some people will raise concerns, but we are getting assurance from the local authorities, where we have decade’s long partnership, that the rally will take place. This is not the first challenge in the almost 30 years of history of the Breslau. Each year we had diverse challenges to face, but even in the toughest moments the rally took place. Exactly in those moments we can ultimately feel the strong partnerships and the traditions, which Rally Breslau has built in Poland”.
Rallye Breslau 2022 Route “participants will face the incredible marathon stage which is known as the Hannibal stage”
The rally will have a new stage with start in the south part of Poland. The crew is currently working on a combination of several options for the rally tracks. As soon as all agreements with land owners are finalized RBI Sport will reveal the exact start location. After all these years this is a good and expected change. The finish will be once again in Drawsko Pomorskie. The military polygon there is traditional for Rallye Breslau and is an integral part of the Breslau spirit.
The famous night stage will take everyone into the unknown as darkness would hide all the surroundings and the road book would be the only thing to guide the drivers into the wilderness.
This year the participants will face the incredible marathon stage which is known as the Hannibal stage.
Competitors can expect 1500 km of itinerary for Cross Country and 1300 km of itinerary for the Extreme Category.
In the Breslau every stage, every corner is exciting. The variation in the landscapes and the tracks is great. Participants have to be able to do everything: high speed racing, proper navigation and teamwork. This is part of the typical Breslau spirit.
Rallye Breslau 2022: 2 Categories and 5 Vehicle Classes
Rallye Breslau Poland is the oldest amateur off-road rally in Europe, combining the “Cross-Country” and “Extreme” categories and together with the “Discovery” category it makes one of a kind motorsport event. Rallye Breslau is open to 5 Vehicle Classes, Bikes – ATV – SSV – Cars – Trucks, and 2 categories: Cross Country and Extreme.
- Cross country: speed – navigation – endurance
Classic rallying in combination with off-road – or the combination of the right car, the right driving and navigating skills! Only the roadbook will show you the right way through unknown terrain under the pressure of time. It´s the job of the navigator, to find the correct route. The car has to be specially prepared and it´s the job of the driver, to know the limits of his car – and to drive as best as possible within the limits to win. Driver, navigator and the technical basics must cooperate in a harmonious way – while the clock is running.
- Extreme: trophy – winching – mud – water – dust
Hardcore offroad and right tactics. There are also fast passages. There is also a road book. But in the Extreme, the focus is mostly pointed on the perfect slowness in combination with the tactical skills of the occupants. A right decision is much more worth than speed. The navigator not only has to point out the right way, he also to assist the driver with the strength of his muscles. Not only the technical condition of the vehicle is important. Driver and codriver have to think carefully, have to experience, to trick the physics – and sometimes they simply have to be brutal.
- Discovery: adventure – rally feeling – friends – spirit
Rally adventure to try and find out. No matter whether Cross Country or Extreme: The participants in the Discovery Category are able to breathe real “motorsport air”, but inside the action instead just beeing a spectator. The technology could be (nearly) standard), the knowledge of driver and codrive could be on a level of a novice. Everything can, nothing has to, without large investments in the technology. You can test your own limits without running under pressure. Carry on when it’s fun or stop when you prefer to be part of the camp atmosphere. Enjoy with nearly all access.
Rallye Breslau 2022 Registrations will be closed on Tuesday, 31.05.2022
Around 3 months before the rally there is over 260 registered crews, which only shows that people are happy and have faith and trust in the organizer. And all this in a year with many more rallies to choose from.
Knowing the tendency that 35% of the competitors register in the last moment, RBI Sport may be forced to limit the maximal number of participants at some point. The online registration will be closed on Tuesday, 31.05.2022. So, everyone who is ready and wants to drive in Rallye Breslau will have to register until then.
We are reminding that our registration regulations are maybe the most liberal one and we don’t require a full payment immediately, but just the payment of a deposit, that shows participation intent. The cancellation options will be the same as in the Fenix Rally.
